Inconsistency in displayed content between win8 and 10

Hi. I have win10 on my desktop, and win8 on my laptop. Windows explorer on both machines lists my OneDrive. But the win8 machine lists twice as many folders and files as win10. Neither machine lists any of the files as being on their hard drives.

How can this be? How can I view the same Onedrive account on two machines and see different content?

Go to the browser OneDrive and see how much content you have there.

Windows 10 is using selective sync, no all your files and folders will show up unless you choose them. Win 8.1 is using placeholder, ask your stuff will show up automatically.
