Export contacts (Lumia 520) with no linked microsoft account

[Windows Central Question]

Hi all, trying to remotely help a friend (phone not physically with me). He is trying to export his contacts and all web suggestions say just go on live.com and export from there. Problem is I don't think he actually has a Microsoft account (at all). Would this be possible (certainly doesn't look like it's there in Settings>Accounts).

If that is the case, is there any other way to export these contacts?

I dnt know if this is available on wm but on wp 8.1 there's a app frm MS named contacts+message backup which exports contacts to sd card n yes if he owns a windows mobile then he must hav a ms acc.
