Windows Central Question

I had recently gotten a nasty virus that I had spent many days trying to fix including sage booting and anti-virus. I eventually just decided to reinstall windows and do the faster option. I left it to cook dinner and my cat decided to sit on my keyboard. Now the screen is black, with the Lenovo logo if I shine a light on the screen. The keys and power button are lit up as if the computer is on, but the screen is unresponsive and I can not turn the computer off via the power button. I don’t know how to fix this! Help!

Welcome to the forums. If you can get another PC to get the .iso file from Windows to a USB stick. You should then be able to bypass the boot order on the PC, and use the USB stick to reinstall Windows.

First of all, it most likely isn't the cat's fault :)

What I recommend is trying to turn the computer off (hold down the power button for several minutes or remove device battery). When you can power it up again, run the restore utility that is built in to the laptop and start the entire process again.

The steps below may help, but ideally we need to know the model of your Lenovo laptop.

Greetings and salutations.

That is, unfortunately. I help running a website for a cleaning company https://prorengoring.dk/ where we had some issues with animals and electronics :)

But I don't think this is the problem here. I always had experiences with Lenovo and installing windows 10. I don't know if you had windows 10 before, but when I installed it, the problem was, that Lenovo had made so little space on the hard-drive, that there wasn't enough space for the upgrade. Otherwise, it can just be the virus that destroyed it :/ Don't blame the cat :)

I agree, don't blame the cat and perhaps restoring the machine can help.

, I think you can bypass the 'too little space problem' by plugging in an usb stick that is big enough to hold the update (16 or 32 gb should suffice, perhaps 8 gb too).
Also not so sure about the cat, cats do want to take over the world... :sweaty:
