Windows Central Question

The PC was working fine then when I went to start it up, boom. I have downloaded the Windows 10 iso file as per instructions. When I start Boot Camp Assistant, the program tells me to remove the external storage device. If I do, I can't make a windows bootable USB. It wants to install on my Mac hard drive. I need a bootable USB to make the necessary repairs to the Windows PC. Can anyone help? Thanks.

What options does Bootcamp give if you do remove the external storage device? If it lets you delete the Windows partition and re-create it (then using your bootable external media) that may be the easiest thing to do.
