I recently bought a Samsung CRG9 ultrawide 49" 5k monitor (resolution: 5120 x 1440) for work.
I am thinking of replacing my existing laptop with a Surface Pro 6. Will the Surface Pro 6 support an ultrawide 5k monitor?
I know that the Surface Pro 6 does not have a USB-C port. Would it be possible to connect the Surface Pro 6 to an ultrawide 5k monitor by using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter or Mini Displayport to DisplayPort 1.4 cable?
The graphics card for the Surface Pro 6 (Intel UHD 620) can support a 5k monitor. My current laptop has the same graphics card and is able to support a 5k monitor, although the refresh rate is not ideal (but good enough for me as I don't use the setup for gaming).
Does anyone have experience with this? Any tips would be appreciated.
