Microsoft: just offer a reboot option and not just one for shutdown.
Spelling it out:
If a user does a long press of the on/off button, give him 3 options:
1) shutdown
2) restart
3) cancel
Too hard?
That would be perfect.
there are a few aps on the store to reboot your phone with just a click of a live tile, but they are all paid for.
They only work on 8.0. Microsoft removed the reboot access for 3rd party apps in 8.1. If I remember correctly someone created an app (and published it in the store) that would make the phone reboot as soon as it booted, making it a never-ending cycle to demonstrate that this api was flawed and so Microsoft removed it. That's why we need a 1st party reboot button.
Windows Phone and its ridiculous feature-phobic design is dead. About time to start bringing as many PC features to Windows Mobile as possible. They can start with a reboot button, default app setting and network access.
