Battery Saver Issue in Lumia 950

In Lumia 950, I turned on the Battery Saver option, and I selected Mail and Whatsapp apps so that these can still send and receive push notifications. But that doesn't work and I am forced to check my mails and Whatsapp messages manually. (BTW, I have installed the latest .36 release and firmware update.)

Is there anything I can do to correct this issue? Or is it a known issue for which we need to wait for further updates for a resolution?

Have to let them work in background and select to let them work under battery saver.
