Hello everyone,

I have recently bought a secondhand Lumia 950 Dual Sim RM-1118 at a very low price, and had many issues since the beginning, at first it was on a very old technical preview build and struggled a lot because couldn't find the corresponding firmware to the product code, until I finally found a way to flash an unbranded rom and update to the latest insider preview slow ring build (I am a wp noob, more of an android guy)
Next thing i notice after setting up my phone is how distorted the colors were, red is barely visible and a purple hue covers a large area of the display, I tried calibrating the display and rebooting the phone many times but couldn't fix it at all, the weird thing is when the phone is booting up the Microsoft logo looks totally fine, colors are accurate.
I have attached a few pictures so you could see how it looks like, note that it's visible in daylight also not only in the dark, please i need help to fix this problem thank you!!

Odd. Are you sure the firmware you loaded matches the hardware well enough? Sounds like when the OS has started and the real graphics driver is used, that it has the issue. Perhaps there are regional display panels being used with the calibration profile embedded in the firmware and so a miss-match is causing this issue.

I used Windows Phone Image Designer to flash the software version 01078.00053.16236.35016 CV PL (10.0.10586.318) for the RM-1118 (the windows device recovery tool doesn't recognize the phone) because as i said, when browsing through lumiafirmware.com I couldn't find the corresponding firmware to my product code so I had to use a random one available in a Polish (probably) forum. Any suggestion?

This is due to incorrect firmware, ie. video driver.
What is your original product code, device model, device variant, mobile operator, firmware?
Look HERE and find your exact model and then compare correct firmware with the one you are running

If you cannot find correct FW try some that are closest to your model...

the windows device recovery tool doesn't recognize the phone

This is not correct! New versions of WDRT recognise ALL Lumias, so it must be something with your computer/driver. Try to fix that first, to get your Lumia recognised by WDRT.

Screen shots show only present firmware/software versions. Important are now only RM number and Product Code number.

Unfortunately I do not see any firmware for your Lumia 950 Dual SIM RM-1118, Product Code 059W6V2 on
http://www.lumiafirmware.com/ser/RM-1118
All software versions are for Product Code 059X and yours is "W"

For example for my product code: Nokia Lumia 950: RM-1104, Product Code: 059X4X7 it lists all available.

WDRT is your only hope to sort it out.

Yeah it's a weird product code i have, and before flashing the other firmware, device id was odd too ... Guess I am gonna try WDRT again see what happens and report back :/

Yes, this shows that the phone is not properly identified. Try uninstalling WDRT and ALL Lumia drivers, restart PC and install new WDRT version 3.10.24401, and then connect your phone. When drivers install properly Windows will also recognise your phone as Lumia 950 when you plug it in a USB 2.0 port. Use only proper (directly on mainboard) USB 2.0 ports. NOT USB 3.0!!!.
Try different cables, ports, laptops, Windows versions, etc

could be a prototype, but nothing solid to support this fact but something is fishy about this device. Could you track down the seller and have a few questions to him about the device?

Owner of a Lumia 950 DS-Unlocked version here for a few months, and I've noticed that my screen had some color hue issues as well, but not as extreme as OP's. The hue is more towards showing white colours as yellow, but it was repairable by adjusting the colour profile setting. Repairable as in reducing the yellow hue effect.
