Native Apps fail to open

Strange development. Within the last month whenever I touch the tile to open any of the Microsoft apps such as calendar, mail, People etc, the application flashes open for a brief second and immediately closes. I then have to touch the tile a second time to get the application to open. This has become rather frustrating. I do not have a lot of things added to my RT, I use it for basic office and courtroom work. I believe I am up to date on everything.
Anyone else experience this? Any thoughts?

So tried a refresh or full reset yet? If neither of those are possible right now then PowerShell can be used to uninstall all the bundled MS Metro apps (commands available on the net) and they can be reinstalled from the Store. It may help.
 
I have noticed this also in the last month. I may give a full uninstall and reinstall of the metro apps a go.
 
Did a refresh today and so far it seems to have cured the problem. Thank you for the suggestion.
 
This has been happening to me with the Mail app forever (opens then closes instantly, works fine second time). I'm going to try the refresh option.
