Why can't I open my messaging app?

Can't open Messaging App

I'm on build 14295 (Lumia 735) and I can't open Messaging App. It just crashes as I open it. I've tried enable all permissions and disable, restart the phone, soft reset, uninstall Skype and nothing works. I can still send texts by going on someone's profile and chose Send SMS but I don't receive any messages. Please help, I don't want to do a hard reset because I did it before updating to the new build and I don't want to do it again.

1) be online on WiFi or cellular
2) open skype video
3) go through the setup
4) after setup is complete logout of the app
5) try launching messaging again

Well in that case I'm out of ideas.
