Hey everyone,
I need to get back on the Windows Phone train after a few months on Android. The problem is that I'm torn between the Lumia 720 and 820. What do you think?

I can get them for roughly the same price. Love the camera on 720, but the 820 memory and faster processor has me thinking otherwise. I understand the 820s cam is not bad. Not too concerned about the 820 not having Gorilla Glass. I'm sure it's Dragontrail or similar. I'm not a gamer either

Anyway, thoughts?

720 = better battery life, great f1.8 cam, slimmer unibody profile.
820 = 1gb ram resulting in better multitasking, lesser `loading` screens, faster processor means faster menu transitions compared to 720, gaming perf,. Amloed screen. But poor battery life.

It boils down to your preference, need battery life go for 720 . or else 820 :) . I understand 820 is already out of production.. Either way best of luck!!

I have the 822 Verizon's basically same phone and love it. The display, speed, storage is all you should need I'm also not into gaming but for business it's great and the size is just right for me.
Good luck on your choice.

I've also had my 822 for just about a year now and it has been rock solid. The camera is not the top of the line but is not horrible either. No screen protector and the screen is really scratch free. No freeze ups or lock ups whatsoever.

Almost perfect!

But Lumia 820 have a Ok battery life, not poor.

For me. 820 is better than 720. My coworker have one (720).

I guess you should go with 820.
Pros:
Better processor
More ram
Amoled screen
Feels premium in hand

Cons:
worse camera than 720
A bit heavy, but not much.

In my experience 820 would be a better choice.

820...faster than 720...very solid device..fell twice on tarmac no damage...scrolling is faster and smoother than 720...however 720 battery life is pretty amazing but the 820 battery life will last you through a full day with moderate usage...and the amoled screen is way sharper than 720 which has some light bleeding...

Had my 820 about 4 months and it is outstanding. I got it instead of a 920 because I wanted a smaller phone, but it still has the guts (cpu etc) of the 920. Plus you can also add a SD card (up to 64gb), it has a removable battery and a full gig of memory. Also the screens colors are so bright every time I use it in public I get questions from people who want to know what kind of phone is that. GDR 2 made the camera even better (wasn't bad to start with). I hear people complain about the battery; but I have no problem getting two days of use or better out of my 820. GDR 2 also helped that. If you like the 720 thats fine; but I believe the 820 is one of the most versatile phones on the market and is the one I would choose.

Was in your same situation and picked the 820 because I valued more RAM over better camera. Having it for a while now, AMOLED is pretty awesome too.

battery life on 720 is amazing, I was not concerned abt ram so I picked 720, obly thing I miss is more memory as I love to have games on my phone so i have used up my 8gb mem.

Plus when You want to go wireless charging you exchange the whole shell instead of adding an extra.

Not that I want to part with my 920, but if I should I would probably also go 820.

720 doesn't have a better camera and f1.9 aperture is a deal in some cases, but 820 images are sharper and the colors are more natural (more closer to 920 probably). Don't forget about the resolution and dual led flash. You can't record a 1080p videos with L720 too.
720's profs are battery, a unibody case (solid feel, but you cant replace a cover and a battery without a partial disassembling, that's a matter of taste) and 1.3 Megapixels front camera, capable of 720p video recording.

I had 820 and then bought 720, much prefer 720. Its lighter, unibody with beautiful curve screen, gorilla glass 2. Also i notice no difference in speed and with Nokia colour saturation now you can have nice deep colours. Battery is much better and rear facing speaker is better. Don't game so 512 ram is perfectly good for me.
