I haven't seen numbers like these since before the Lumia Black update. Dev Preview's debug code lived on my battery like termites. But that's gone now and its really improved. Nice job with Cyan.

I'm getting better battery life with cyan too, even though I also added dev preview update 1, since I wanted Live Folders.

I'm not surprised. Since the firmware for DP was not tailored to any specific device, it was never calibrated to the hardware.
I put on 8.1.1 and the battery is still solid.

Microsoft Solitaire will kill my 920's fully charged battery in less than an hour, otherwise all other apps and games on my phone work properly (battery usage wise) and the battery usually lasts me the day.

Microsoft Solitaire is rogue. That thing saps more energy than my socket can provide. I had mine on charge and it still sapped the battery.

    Lumia 920,
This is my battery life on cyan + wp 8.1 update 1 (lite usage - some texts, music for few hours, some games - about few minutes, wifi was on all the time) I can live with this :-D

I know on IOS, apps are updated to work better with the new OS. but, I suspect if the app was optimised for WP7, its likely to behave more rogue-like on WP 8.1. I think Apple require developers do that but I could be wrong here.

If it has been released for your phone and carrier then.
    1. Make sure backup is set
    2. Download Nokia care suite on computer and then connect phone (you will be reverting to wp8). Choose not to load backup.
    3. Do update ota
    4. Do update ota (this time it should be wp8.1/ cyan).
    5. Hard reset phone and choose to start from your backup.
    5. a. Sign in to your microsoft account. After choosing backup, when phone comes on sign back into WiFi and it will begin redownloading all of your apps (this can take a while)
    6. Turn preview for developer on
    7. Do ota update for wp8.1 update 1
    Done!

Only other way is to wait for Microsoft to release the hold on phones running preview for developers (it could be a couple weeks).

Btw after you are done setup the new battery app, then go I and manully block the apps you don't want running in the background. Makes a big difference.

Got the Cyan update via NSRT today a about 3 hrs back.. Well its too early to comment on the battery life.. I see the 1 day 15 hrs of battery that always happens when a hard reset is done so dont think my phone will last that long.

Also hijacking the thread .. do you guys see an arrow over your network and wifi signal.. wondering whats that for ???? Also did not do the DP update.. on plain vanilla Cyan update .. Lets see how the battery holds up, missing the live folders though

This has already been fixed and lifted. The hold is no longer in place.

On bitlocker issue: some people are reporting that the latest DP release still has bitlocker issue with Cyan. We think that's incorrect...

..we think the only cases of this, still, are folks who updated via a NON-PUBLIC mechanism that we used for small-group & internal testing.

As of Friday 5 Sep 11:00 PM EDT, my AT&T L920 on 8.1.1 DP was still not getting the Cyan update. That suggests that Microsoft and/or AT&T hadn't released it for DP, since I most certainly got my DP updates from the public mechanism. When I checked NSRT, it had Cyan/8.1 available for direct install - no backup to Black/8.0 - so I went that route. I would have waited if I had to go back to 8.0 first, but for a squeaky clean install directly to Cyan, it was worth going through the restore and re-setup, for me, anyway.

So no, the hold had not been released for all models and carriers as of Friday night Eastern US time, and I doubt the situation has changed much in the 2 days since.

Well... maybe I'm paranoid but I don't really like tu use battery apps (only the stock app), I think batt apps will eat some battery power too.

Was same before I installed the battery app. I also have same philosophy as you regarding battery apps. I used only the stock app but later got this too better monitor my battery and see how I can Improve its life.
