I noticed in the specifications for the Lumia 920 that it supported Wi-Fi Channel Bonding. I didn't know what that was so I looked it up.
What it means (among other things) is that the phone can connect with the 5GHz band on newer routers (as well as the 2.4). When I got the phone I tried it and it works! This allows much higher Wi-Fi transfer rates.
I don't think the 900 (or any other Windows phone) has the feature.
