Where's my storage gone? WP8/8.1 and hidden Hi-Res files

Used the app to update to the wp8.1 Preview which for the most part I'm enjoying but for the first time on my phone (Lumia 1020) I was told I ran out of space, checked the Storage Sense app and it reported over 15GBs of photos which is a fair old whack. So did the normal thing, plugged the phone into the PC and used the Win8.1 app to transfer the photos off and then used the app to delete them. So now when I go into my phone or use the Win8.1 app there's no photos but its still showing as 15.3GB of space used for photos.

After an hour searching online to see if it was a known bug I used Windows Explorer and checked the file and folder structure of the device and lo and behold in the Camera Roll folder there's 15GB of Hi-Res DNG, JPG and NAR files that don't show up in the Photos app on the phone or the Transfer app on Win8.1.

Anybody else noticed this?

yeah if im not mistaken this used to happen in black also

Nokia Camera has to store it's files somewhere. You knew it was saving DNGs because you set it to in camera app. Now you know what's eating up storage, copy these files to the computer once a month and delete them from the phone. Yes it would be nice is at least Lumia storage checker told you about these files, but it doesn't, unfortunatelly.
DNGs and NARs aren't exactly photos (photo transfer apps only look for jpeg, maybe pngs and bmps). Just use Explorer to copy files and you won't miss them again.

I have recently upgraded to 8.1 and also upgraded my memory card to Class 10 ultra and now my albums in photos hub do not show in photos. When I look storage sense it shows the photos are in other memory which are not supported by my 1320. These photos are just jpeg images. Can any one help on how to get these photos on my phone and remove from other memory?
