10041 rolls back

hi guys,

im still on build 9926...i am in the fast ring but for some reason 10041 did not take on my machine (fwiw its an x99 motherboard, i know there have been issues here in the past). its tried to install a couple of times. i just read its to be released in the slow ring which i assume means most stability issues have been fixed.

i just ran another windows update & it said it downloaded the 10041 file again, but when i reset there was no attempt to install anything. is there a way to force it to attempt to install/is this a known issue??

You may need to clear out any pending updates in the update cache and re-try. There's a few posts around on it. Some seem to suggest the update seems to hang for a loooonnnnng time, but gets there in the end.

ive cleared the cache & it redownloaded. but now if i restart it doesnt attempt to install it; is there a way i can force it?

There is a ISO of that build. Maybe install it from there.

so i installed from the iso & basically the same thing happen, as far as i saw it got to something like 20%, reset, then reverted back. i didnt see any error message then (mayve missed it as i was afk) but this is what showed when i got back to the desktop:

That looks like an upgrade rather than an install?

right, i am not doing a clean install, just trying to upgrade to the new build.
