Hi all

My Lumia 1020 just started going funny last night, when I touch the power button it either does nothing for a few seconds then keeps wanting me to slide down to power off or goes to the screen with time and then asks to power off. If I slide down, it says goodbye but then vibrates and seems to restart, so I can?t actually to turn it off.

It also keeps showing the Something has changed, the screenshot button combo has changed message.

Im thinking is it the power button? as when I go to turn volume up sometimes keeps taking a screenshot but not every time.

Have tried volume down and power, soft reset? but still the same after this.

Really hope can be sorted as this was my fourth handset from phones4u about two years ago as all others were getting hot, bad sound, battery draining etc? but I luv the phone so persevered!

This post actually sounds very similar http://forums.windowscentral.com/no...-power-button-malfunctioning.html#post3469083

Many thanks in advance for any help

it looks like a hardware issue, You could try a service centre or any phone technicians to check the contacts of the power button. Something might be loose there inside

Thanks for the reply

So it seems if I double tap the screen to open it I can use the phone fine, but its when I, even lightly, touch the power button on the side that it starts to play up.

This is probably relevant, I came back from holiday on Wednesday and I did have my phone on the beach so I'm thinking there's probably a good chance it could be a tiny grain of sand or around the power button?

Is it possible I can open it up to check or clean the button? I'm sure I read the phone should be off if you open it? which I cannot do unless I just let it go flat, but didn't want to in case I cant turn it back on again!

Thanks again for any further help
