2 Colums vs 3 Colums: What do you prefer?

Three columns is beautiful, been jealous ever since it premiered on the 1520. Have it on both my 1020 & 520, very happy.

My Lumia Icon being a larger phone already had 3 columns and because of the display size, the 3 columns works rather nicely.

Does the ICON (or 1520, for that matter), let you enable two column support of you please? Or are you forced to keep the columns? I personally wouldn't do it, but choice and consistency are good, and some people would appreciate the larger buttons (older folks come to mind).

Lumia 620 with 3 Columns looks quite....small :)
I remember the conversations "ahhhhh i want it on my 520/620/...." Well....MS had its reasons....it is too small for small screens

Huh, interesting. Figured the tile option would've gone both ways, but evidently not. Thanks for checking.

I think for the small tiles in 3 column mode, minimum screen size is 4.5". I have an 820, and I have small tiles, pretty happy with them, however I would be much more satisfied if they were slightly bigger.

Nope. None. My screen has black bars on the left and right, so I think I should get the option for 4 columns. Especially since 4.5-inch phones run 3 columns well enough.

I have a 1520, so I have had 3 columns anyway.

Although, in my test devices, I do like it on the 1020 and 920, but I am NOT fond of it on the 520 and HTC 8X when Small Tiles are used.

Are you using a large screen device like the 1520, Icon or Ativ SE? That's probably why no such option exists, because you already have three columns enabled by default. As for four columns: I'm open to seeing a render/concept, but that might get too cluttered and/or make the small tiles too small...

I recently switched to 3 columns on my Lumia 520 and it's not pretty great as on a 925 but I do like it. Will decide after using the 3 column for a week.

2 columns until more apps support transparent tiles. 3 tiles afterwards. I hate to see 2/3 of my screen transparent and the rest colored.

Three columns looks so much better and opens up so many more ways of arranging tiles for looks and function.

...But on an 822 it's just too small. :unhappy:

i had the 3 columns since i interop unlocked my ativ s, a few weeks back and going back to two columns felt so wrong, i still have been able to sort my start screen out but i love a challenge so its fun messing with it
