3G drops...3g works, sometimes doesnt...help!!!

Does 3G connection switch to a sleep mode when on standby for a long time. I am on data and connected to whatsapp. Is it the whatsapp? I think not...i wonder if 3G sleeps when phone is not being used for an amount of time. When i open my whatsapp the next day, or try browing, it cant connect anymore. I am using my L720. Or is it bcoz of the 512mb ram...? Im just wondering if there are users who experienced this issue as well. My signal is good. Pls anybody who can help me? I hope MS will work on this...


Update: pissed off...im just thinking about smashing my phone right now becoz it doesnt connect anymore to 3g. I have strong 3g connection here...Symbian works really well with 3rd party messaging apps, i dont know why Nokia cant make it work on the LUMIA! baaaaah.. :unhappysweat:

Data as part of the critical function of the phone and will not go into sleep mode.
Battery saving mode however will disable all push messaging.
Try wifi to verify Whatsapp is working.
Try access internet through data with other apps to verify data accessibility.
Try a reset if above procedure failed to resolve the problem.
Claim a warranty if none of above procedure rectify the situation.
