So which are the four apps that are not coming to the platform? I'm just curious. I was kind of disappointed there was no mention of an instagram app. I know some people don't care for the trendy photo app, but some do, and there is no denying its super popular on other platforms. Not having the top photo sharing app might make some potential new users hold off on upgrading to the platform.

I think that thing is bad for the mankind too, but that alone would probably boost WP sales a lot.

I completely agree - all I hear from my family is how they wished it had instagram. But what was that icon on the screen of new apps? (I think I attached the picture successfully on this post)? If not instagram, what? I'd think if it was instagram they would have brought more attention to it

Isn't that the Instagram icon?? 2nd column from the right and 3rd (small icon) row down. I don't use Instagram but I swear that's the Instagram icon is it no??
My wife, who basically uses her phone for social networks, is excited about the Lumia 920 because of the awesome camera, but every time photo sharing comes up, instagram comes up as well. Having the app on the platform will definitely help people make the switch much easier. I love metro-am, but its limited.

WPC already discussed what the new icon was. It had something to do with Nokia. I'll find the link, it wasn't instagram though.
That icon on the second row definitely looks like its some sort of photo app. It resembles the lens on the instagram icon on iOS, but I also agree that if it is, they would've brought more attention to it. Who knows?

Never mind, I forgot where I was at.
It resembles the lens on the instagram icon for iOS, but its only the lens. Not sure if its the app.

Not having it won't stop people from using it. I never knew such stupidity exists. Instagram is better than Facebook in many ways.
Can't people share photos without using Instagram, or is all of that digital filter stuff the big appeal?

It also has it's own "social network" where you can follow people and get updates. While some people connect it to facebook/twitter, many stay in "Instagram" - so it's a network Windows Phone users are forced out of. While there are apps that allow you to VIEW the feeds, none can UPLOAD to Instagram

Your opening line is kind of misleading. 46 of 50 apps already exist for the Windows Phone platform. The last 4 apps aren't apps that 'aren't coming to the WP8 platform'. It's just that those 4 apps haven't been created for it yet.
