4G on in 3G country

Just a quick question here, if I leave on 4G as the highest connection speed in a country that does not yet have 4G will it make any difference on signal strength, battery etc.. Or should I switch to 3G?? Thanks!!

it should not make a difference on signal strength, maybe a bit on the battery life due to the fact that the phone will start scanning for non existent 4G signals. For me, I find no difference in battery life when leaving it on 4G or 3G.
