I can't complain at all with the battery performance.
I charged the battery initially for 10hrs overnight when I received the phone.
Up to now I've had 1 full day (24rs, never turned off) and I'm at 49%.

Use it soley on wifi (data off) unless I need web access when out and about, have works exchange email on push, outlook.com on 30 mins checks.
Screen brightness auto (low), bluetooth/location off.
In my lunchtime I listen to music for approx. 30/40 mins and browse net occasionally through working day if away from desk, technet etc.
Last night I was on wildersecurity forums and here for a good half hour plus and played angry birds for half hour last night while my better half watched the soaps.

I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised and its up there with my trusty old Huawei Ascend W1 for battery strength.
Yup I've got the same problem as everyone else with the touch but turning off the ease of access screen magnifier has helped no end.

One happy bunny!

Pretty smooth for me, no lag at all and quite nippy/zippy.
Haven't seen any 'resuming' messages either and I tend not to reboot my device and/or switch it off either.
Guess this'll be the 1GB RAM coming effect over the 512MB I have in my 520.
I did have the initial problem with touch but like I said above, disabling the magnifier setting has all but cured it.
I'm sure a firmware update will be issued to cure 100% in due course.
It's a new model and there were always going to be teething troubles.

UPDATE:
Just about to head to bed (01:57 UK time), currently handset sitting at 7% remaining and has been on solid for 42hrs.
Estimate is a further 3hrs 34mins with current discharge rate of 1.96%/hr.
Tell you what, this'll do for me, it's helluva step up from my 520 that had to be charged every night.

Good to know, but keep topping the juice as long as you can to maintain the battery longevity. It's bad to constantly drain down the battery before the next top up.

i read it's only bad as long as you let the phone turn off on its own when it's low on battery very often.

Since when was it bad to drain a battery completely?
Technology has moved from the good old days of battery upper/lower 'memory', the only tech notes I've ever seen is that when you charge you should charge to fully 100% and not just plug it in for 10/15 mins here as prolonged intermittent charging can damage the cell (battery, not mobile).

...and i read too that you can charge up to as much as you want... 20%, 80% or 100%, it won't affect anything

seems all these texts about batteries are a little contradicting xD

Just bought a spare lithium ion battery for my camera today. There's an instruction inside stating min 8 hours for initial charge.

I am having serious issue with my battery problem. After full charge when I unplug the charger after a minute or two it comes down to 98 %. Even I just used whatsapp using wifi and after 4 hours it drops down to 58%. I don't even play games. How are you getting this kind of back up? Can you kindly tell me. Because I have to plug the charger after only 13 hours..After 13 hours of mild using I got less than 20 % of charge.:(

I dont use cortana therefore I have location services switched off.
No bluetooth unless driving, email sync on push when at work, manual when away.
No data enabled, use wifi/wifi sense only so no constant polling.
Background apps all edited so only those I sanction can poll, i.e. weather, news, facebook.
Brightness set to low then auto enabled.

I did an initial 10hr charge when I received the phone regardless of how strong the battery appeared when I first switched it on.
I've always done this with every phone.

Okay. I tried to do almost every stuffs which can extend my battery performance it seems that still not doing quite good. I lost 31% of charge in 11 hours. But in your case I'm seeing your are getting back for more than 1 day. Does the battery take time to stabilize.?

I experienced same issue.. The battery drain quite fast.., my L520 did far better on battery lifetime than my new L535.. The battery drain around 2% / 30min on easy usage like social media, browsing, and explore the menu.. And the display looks like more brighter than L520 on lowest setting.. It's too bright on indoor usage.. Looks like MS need to update the firmware on battery, touch, and display..

Mine with WiFi always on, two SIMs inside in a good coverage area, Cortana and location enabled, Skype + News + Health & Fitness in the background, double tap to wake enabled, drains 9% during the night. With normal usage I don't really know, but I will see in the next days.

While I don't find the battery fantastic, it's pretty acceptable. We need to understand that they needed to cut some corners so they used a cheaper chemistry(3.7 VS 3.8Volts on middle/high end models), so we have less capacity per space and perhaps less charging cycles in the long run.

I do agree that the display on low and auto settings is way brighter than needed, and that with some adjustment the drain can be reduced.

The battery life for first few cycles was really bad. Berore I left work already almost drained. But it gets better now I have 50% after work.

How many hours you get back up and how many days you have bought your phone? How many days it took the battery to come to this stage.
