8.1 Video Player

After I updated my phone to 8.1 I noticed that when you play a video from your browser it doesn't open up like in a new tab that shows only the video.When you play a video it's just like you are watching it on a computer.Is it a bug?Can it be fixed?Or just Microsoft has decided it's better this way.

That's what it is intended to do. Double click on the video play area and it will go full screen, and it now has a seeker function rather than a 30 second jump
