8107 Update on Vzw?

For those who have not updated their Verizon HTC Trophy to 7740 or 8107 or already installed the HTC update, you can help those of us who have updated to 7740 8107 to get the HTC Update for Windows Phone (January 2012) to get it. Please read this and/or this. If anyone is willing to help, it would be greatly appreciated by me and many others. Thanks in advance!
I can try this over the weekend since I haven't updated yet. So basically you just need any requests to the MS servers for .cab files?

I can help. I already have Wireshark. My question is, what is the firmware and radio software that will get loaded with your manual update process?

So, I just checked for updates and Zune told me it didn't have any (I haven't forced any updates, I'm still on 7720). So I tried the "turn off Wifi" trick that many people (myself included) used to get Mango early and then the update showed up. So it appears that they haven't released it to everyone yet. Anyone that can't get the update should probably try this first before trying to manually install it.

Edit: I'm talking about the radio update here, not 8107.

Thank you for this kind offer. I have some good news. The direct link has been found. Here it is. More specific information is available here.

Does not change OS version (7.10.7720.68).
•Firmware revision number: 2305.13.20110.605
•Radio software version: 1.53.00.12.01_23.17w.05.13U

The update can be applied to OS build 7720, 7740, or 8107 just fine.

Installation instructions (step-by-step) are here. The same process works. I can now confirm this as working on multiple Verizon HTC Trophies.

You can also install OS build 7740 or 8107 using the same process (instructions at last link I just provided). You need to follow the instructions to the letter, but they do work.

I let my (broken) phone do the Verizon radio update last night.

I then followed this link and had a backup and was updated to 8107 in about 10 minutes this morning. From 7720 to 8107, downloaded the 7720->7740 and 7740->8107 cabs, 8107 English and Spanish cabs. I didn't have to do the steps 9 or 10 but worth checking on.

edit: and yes my phone is broken and my daily driver still--only portrait mode and no tilt functions in games. Still better than my OG Droid or any new phone I could get with my upgrade plus NE2. Cmon VZW give us more :)

Psiu, check your firmware #'s. What do they show?

Can you provide the full string numbers please? Thank you.
I have:
OS 7.10.8107.79
Firmware revision 2305.13.20110.605
Hardware revision 0003
Radio software 1.53.00.12.01_23.17w.05.13U
Radio hardware 3.2.3.D4
Bootloader version 2.1.230513.10 *different than your first post
Chip SOC 2.3.0.5.13

Hope that helps. I did let it do the radio upgrade PRIOR to installing 8107, btw.

Ok, here's the deal...
I was already at 7.10 (8107) so the updates didn't seem to be firing for me. I had followed the instructions at Updating Your Windows Phone to 8107 - RobertMcLa.ws to get there and it was a fast and easy process. I re-downloaded the cabs from his links and re-ran it but still didn't get my firmware and radio software current.

So I then went to the XDA site and grabbed the CAB for the firmware alone. http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/software/dflt/2011/12/2305.13.20110.605_oemupdate_release.cab.pks_54ccb1854f1486f5a5f4a50cf811640bb4144bda.cab
Expanded it in the same folder as the other CABs are extracted to and ran JUST the send CAB option from the .BAT file. After that, my firmware is now current. BOOYAH!!!

I got notice of update yesterday and downloaded it with no issues so far. Only think I have noticed so far is no disappearing keyboard.

If you got notice of the update, and didn't install anything else it won't affect the keyboard at all. The update from Verizon is only a firmware update. If you do just the 8107 update through *other methods*, it won't apply the firmware update unless you include it as well.

I was already at 8107. I got offered the HTC update last night. Radio firmware now shows the latest.

So that means people should get offered the update no matter what OS version they're on.

Is this something that is updated using *228?

*228 dosent update the firmware or software, it only downloads a prl file, which is basically a csv file with system id's telling the phone where to find the network. Anyone who tells you it is for troubleshooting, firmware updates, itll fix dropped calls or enable features is wrong.

I have noticed after the update that the voice quality is the same but when I talk to someone on the phone they cut in and out which is getting real annoying. Anyone else experiencing this?

I haven't noticed any such problem.

Anyone getting 8107 who has not forced it? Getting reports that this is being pushed by Verizon but need to make sure...screenshots help ;-)

Daniel,

I received notification of an update this morning, went ahead and updated but only received the radio firmware update. No sign of 8107. Just for reference, I'm located in Madison, WI.
