You're kidding, right? The x86 move allows them to seek the Windows application compatibility, and I'm sure it's helped with the multitasking and such. Plus, do we even know if that was REMOTELY possible?
The only reason that 360 survived all these years is the PowerPC. Point a 500$ computer from 2004/5 that can run the latest Halo.
RISC Rulezzzz.... If the didn't stop with the evolution we could have something faster that i386 architecture Today .
I worked DIGITAL RISC machine running OpenVMS a long time ago and this machine was 1000 times faster that any PC.
