8x Camera Flash Question

When taking pictures today there is an icon on the screen display showing flash is off. No matter if I change the setting to on, off or auto, the flash off icon stays on the screen and will not turn on to take pictures.

I've used the flash last a day or two ago so it did work and the flash light app works fine. I powered the phone off/on with same result. There seems to be a setting I am missing. Any thoughts?

Ive been doing some digging around and it appears the camera flash does not work when batter is low which is a horrible feature. I have battery saver off, and even while being charged it will not turn on the flash. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE feature. Let me control the fate of my battery.

It's charging now, when the battery is higher I will post an update.

Yup, issue was battery was low. Charging it up allows me to use the flash.

I haven't heard about this anywhere before, thanks for your report. I agree that it's a terrible feature. If I want to kill my battery, then let me kill it.

I wonder if this is a WP8 thing or specific to the 8X?
