950 randomly restarting

My father acquired a Lumia 950 from me, and he is using it on the AT&T GoPhone plan. He had been using it for a solid year or more with no issues. He put a 128gb sd card in also when he first got it. There wasn't any issue until a couple months ago when his phone started rebooting randomly. It doesn't seem to be the battery, since there were never any issues with charging and the battery fits snugly against the connectors and doesn't move. Slight bumps don't cause the issue either. Bluetooth is mostly always on as well. What could be causing the problems?

I have the same problem that just started happening after all the recent updates. Mine is a 950 as well. Random restarts. I don't have any extra sd cards in place.

I am to the point where I am frustrated enough to think about switching to android.

My Lumia 950 has started randomly restarting, sometimes in a multiple cycle of restarts, and almost every time it says...

"You've entered an incorrect PIN several times.
To try again, enter A1B2C3 below."

This shows even though I haven't entered any incorrect PIN and even after a soft reset.

I did a hard reset about a week ago to try and fix the problem, but after a week it seems to be back :devil:

I am so glad to have found other people with the same problem!!

My 950 has been doing this for the last month, and I'm losing my patience with it.

Is anyone aware of any fix for this problem, or has it been acknowledged by MS? Has anyone been able to resolve this?

There seems to be no rhyme or reason why my phone restarts - there's no single action/application that causes the restart.
My phone generally tells me my SD card needs re-scanning after a reboot, but even when I remove the SD card it still has this problem. Either that, or the 'You've entered an incorrect PIN' message... And it happens most frequently when my device is on <60% battery.

I've had the phone for almost exactly a year, and have another year left with it before I can switch - so would really like to know a resolution for this!!

Personally I think most people have ditched this phone. I know the only reason I gave it to my father was because I got tired of the buggy nature of Windows 10 mobile. He put the 950 in a drawer and uses an iPhone 7.

Turns out the battery was a dud.
Replaced the battery and, for the last 24 hours, no more spontaneous reboots!

I'm a little sad that the WP is on it's way out - I've had nothing but generally good experiences.

I purchased a new 950 to replace my 3 year old + 1020 and was having the same restart issues. Took the battery out of my wife's 950 and into my new 950 and everything worked fine. I also put my battery into her phone and she started having the random restarts. I received a new battery today from the company I purchased the phone from and so far (knock on wood), all seems fine. I might mention that I never had the restarts when it was plugged in and charging. Only when on the battery power. So, before ditching the phone you might try a new battery first. In my case, I really, really, really hope it was the battery because I really like the 950 thus far.
