A little redesign

Jay, how about the quote, thank, edit, links icons be placed next to the profile picture in a horizontal manner instead of being vertical under the profile picture? Also extending the horizontalness of the main post from left to right. I think these changes will reduce the length of the vertical scrolling, less sentence lines and accommodate more posts on a page.

Afraid I'm going to reject this one (sorry!).

Firstly, the design for now is intended to be consistent with the styling of the overall app, such as when you swipe the article page right to see more, the vertical list of options is available. It also makes it easy to see where one post ends and another begins.
Secondly, those who intend to read a long passage and don't want to scroll too much have the option to rotate the phone and read in landscape.
Thirdly, it's very important to me that we differentiate the design from other apps, I prefer my UI concepts get copied (*cough* WMPowerUser *cough*) than to look similar to other apps. I fear that re-arranging the main post page may draw unwanted comparison with Board express.
Lastly, the current design hopefully feels somewhat familiar to the layout of a normal forum web page, which I was hoping to evoke to make it more accessible.

Of course, if when we go live there is an uproar of people furious about wasted space or something then I will consider a redesign

I perfectly agree with your points and come to think of that, I think we should just leave it this way. It satisfies the uniqueness and differentiation of the app. People will love it.
