According to Rogers, Canadians will NOT be getting the Lumia 830

The situation in Canada for Windows Phone is seriously bad. I bought the 920 2 years ago but since then the 1020 has been the only high end to release afterwards, no 930, or 1520, and now there is doubt about the 830. Need to update my phone soon and not sure if I should be waiting for a 920 or 1520 successor to come to canada (might be waiting a long time) or get the 830 when(if) it launches in Canada. Any thoughts?

Also that Canadian WP Blog is a great idea :) looking forward to checking it out

I was talking to a Telus rep today and was told that they still didn't have a release date, but the Lumia 830 was in the same "test group" as the Moto X, and the Moto X was released about a week ago. So that suggests that Telus is ready for the phone, but the delay is on the Microsoft side, which kind of jives with the theory that the Rogers release was supposed to be on Wednesday but was pushed back.

So, I just got off the phone with a Rogers representative.

I asked them about the Lumia 830 and the representative told me that Rogers will no longer be receiving the Lumia 830.

Not only that but Rogers is beginning to discontinue the Lumia 1020 and will only be selling the Lumia 635 from now on. The representative then tried selling me an iPhone 6 or "Samsung phone".

Does anyone have any news on this? Are Canadians no longer getting this phone?

Apparently there will only be one Windows Phone available for Canadians from now on and that's the Lumia 635.

The firmware for the 830 is already on navifirm for rogers, bell and telus. I would say the rep is full of **** and doesn't know anything

MS store in Burnaby is preparing for 830 so I wouldn't believe the Rogers rep. They don't know much.

Thanks for getting the info!

Really nice start to your site, especially with breaking the news about the Blu Win HD in Canada (I don't understand why the Blu products fail to get any coverage).

Thanks so much! Yeah, it was amazing seeing the BLU WinHD in person! That thing looks fricken solid!

Site looks solid :) if I could make one suggestion though, it would be to turn the carrier icons on the phones available page into links to their respective product pages for that carrier :)

Thanks for the advice!

That was the original plan but I have just gotten to a PC today to be able to complete it! All done! :) you rock!

I bought an unlocked (Orange!) Lumia 930 from Omegacell in Edmonton - I have it on a Rogers month to month plan. I just love this phone - best phone ever. I get good speed even in the rural areas (3G) but near any Rogers 2600mhx Tower I get LTE speeds. The phone I received was a Country Variant (CV) from Thailand, code 000-TH but I flashed the ROM to 000-GB (United Kingdom) in order to get the latest Denim Update and Firmware. Flashing the ROM was easy and now I have "Hey Cortana!" and am able to talk to my phone, even if it is locked! It hooks up to my car Bluetooth too so I can talk to Cortana while driving. Very cool!

Why post in an 830 forum or did you just see 830 and think 930
