Activating SIM on Lumia Icon

So I bought this Icon off of a forum member about a few months back (around May) and recently decided to activate it with a genuine SIM card from Verizon (4G LTE). I did the steps to register the phone with my account and number which worked fine, but everytime I put the SIM in it will not activate. Help?
