It shouldn't really matter, as Microsoft stated that having the Developer preview does not stop future updates, but it's interesting why some are getting an error and some aren't.

I'm getting the same error (my Lumia 920 isn't unlocked though but I still got the update).

Maybe it does matter. Acording to other forums the problem is that GDR3 is not included in this version of the black update. Some people claim they are overcoming the error by installing first the GDR3 preview.

Same problem here, error 80188309 on L920. Plenty of free Space, about 21 GB...

Forums says it's GD3 error. So, for many ATT users just need to wait a couple of months or weeks.

Well my Mums 820 has just errored on the update as well. She did not have the Update 3 (GDR3) Developer preview installed. So as Juan Manuel Bermejo mentioned on the previous page, is it that the Developer preview is required at the moment to get Black installed correctly, because the current update coming through does not include the Update 3 bits.

So for those that are getting errors, have you already got the Update 3 Preview installed or not?
