Hi Dan,

AMD and QUALCOMM recently made an announcement partnering together to make AMD Ryzen APU with Snapdragon LTE modem. My question is, will these new ultrathin laptops have AMD Ryzen/Vega APU working together with Snapdragon 835 CPU? In otherwords, can you have ARM based processors in X86 Board with x86 CPU/GPU?

Will they finally be able to make Surface book or surface Pro like laptops/tablets for a much more affordable price? Will Microsoft make there own Surface Book/Pro lineup featuring AMD+Qualcomm chipset?

It appears as if the Ryzen mobile platform will integrate Qualcomm technology to support always connected PCs. Meaning the modem aspect... The SD 835 itself is a mobile platform. So since AMD announced a mobile platform lineup of their own they would only need the LTE connectivity bit to make it work, and that is where Qualcomm comes into play it seems. I imagine they could build a device to support both platforms (Snapdragon and Ryzen), but then you are increasing costs, design/architecture could be an issue, or even power consumption by using two different HW architectures could pose a challenge. However if we look into the future of computing and AMD seems to be partnered with Qualcomm, Qualcomm sees always connected as the future, then it is possible AMD takes this partnership deeper. Meaning the possibility of an AMD/Qualcomm chipset is there. Just have to wait and see.
