An app to shut down?

The button to turn my phone off (whether 'asleep' or fully off) isn't working.

Can these functions be controlled via an app? If so, know of any?

If you are talking about lock button and have a Lumia device. Chances are you have double twp to unlock phone feature. Just go into settings , touch and turn on double tap to unlock. Now whenever your screen times out , double tap anywhere on screen and your screen will get unlocked. To power off/ restart the phone saldy you have to remove the battery

I use app called quick lock

I just to lazy to press power button

Double tap is I guess what you need. But if turn off your phone how you going to turn it on then)

Thanks all. I did get Lock Screen in the end, and I hope it is updated when 8.1 is out (or is it available already?)

Lock screen does work for me on 8.1
