I've been lurking a bit here, but had to create an account just to comment on this. I'm on an Arrive on Sprint right now with an expired contract and am going to move to Verizon. I like the 8X, but would like to at least handle the 928 before making up my mind. So I have been salivating. Then I do my morning searches and this turns up. So annoying given that we thought it was an April launch.

The laser is the 928. Catwalk is a different phone, supposedly a global handset.

I believe that article you linked to is wrong. The catwalk is different than the Lumia 928 which is codenamed Laser. Hopefully my understanding is accurate and the Lumia 928 becomes available sometime in April.

This is good news, still waiting for announcemet on the "928"....Sometime this month makes this a long month in my eyes...

ehh, well there's always the corporate bs to wade through. Marketing collateral needs to be generated. Someone needs to design the store display, store training, blah, blah, blah.

The devices need to get designed, prototypes need to be made, national testing needs to be done, components need to get ordered / made, phones need to get assembled and tested. It would be great if they actually had enough components to make enough phones for everyone interested.

The only reason we know of these devices is through information that has been leaked unofficially. Since no official announcement has been made Nokia, MS, Verizon don't have any responsibility to rush it out there.

I'm sure the testing, manufacturing, marketing and other phases are no different than what other companies and carriers do with other phones.
