Late response, but still... A couple of weeks ago there was an Intel ad for gen 8 Core processors that seemed to show a black Surface Book. The base seemed to have the same perimeter contours as the performance base, but the keyboard was not sunk into it as it is in the current PB configuration. Microsoft has announced a Surface event for 31 October that may be the announcement of SB2. Hard to say. Sometimes Microsoft just springs new products on people, and sometimes it announces them early (or leaks them) only to fail to deliver in a timely fashion.
