Any way to set the ringtone volume louder?

Is there a way to set the ringtone volume very loud without affecting the other sounds/output volumes? I don't want the conversation volume to be loud but I want the ringtone loud enough to wake me up if the phone gets a call.

If ur on wp 8.1 then now there is an option for setting the volume of ringtone and notifications differently to apps and games.

I have a problem quite like that.
When I search for a ring tone and try it before installing it, it is really loud.
But after installation it quits down so I can hardly hear it.
I took it in to Verizon and they tried it and it did the same thing.
They said that I should get a new phone.
I thought I'd ask you guys before I do that and see what you think.

BTW its a Nokia Icon with Windows phone 8.0

I believe the built I ringtones are at a certain bit rate and format.

Supposedly wp8 supports m4r (iPhone), wma,mp3 for ringtones.

I tried replacing all sounds with official windows 8 system sounds and they're too low. I'll figure out soon enough exactly what formats are the built in ones.
