Anybody else feel the UI needs .. to be... MORE ??

Windows Phone 7/8/8.1 were visually distinct and beautiful. There was definite flow from app to app and it all looked so clean and elegant. W10M on the other hand is like if you took the worst elements of Android and iOS and put them in a blender and this was the result. Just embarrassing and an insult to everyone that came to the platform. Even the dark theme is weak. It's like MS fired everyone that worked on the previous versions and replaced them with two ex-Google interns who only have time to work on it on their lunch breaks. I wouldn't be surprised if it was true.

I totally agree. I'm a massive Windows supporter, but I just had to go back to WP8.1 on my Lumia 1520 because I was so disappointed at the way Microsoft had jettisoned almost all the gorgeous UI innovations of WP8.1 and ended up making a half-baked Android-look-alike.

I know why they did it (to make it easier to port Android apps to W10) but I deeply regret it and furthermore I don't even think it will work.

You know you can increase the font size? Go to the dpi settings.

Also under Ease of access, go to more options and use text scaling to make text bigger.

Oh really? I didn't know about the dpi settings. All o ever found were the text scaling under ease of access. Thanks. I guess ill remember that whenever I decide to try 10 again.

I've already sent feedback on settings for windows 10 mobile. It got maybe 1 upvote. The premise is to have icons in all the settings not just the main screen. If I want to find "display". I can find an icon of a monitor much quicker and then confirm the text, rather than skimming through text. The settings just seems unfinished by having icons only on the main page. It's so damn weird.

The reason why it's done like that is so MS doesn't have to design a 100 different icons for each setting. The icons are so poorly designed in W10M it wouldn't matter much either.

There really was nothing wrong with the text based settings screen in WP 7/8/8.1 other than MS deciding to just make the list longer instead of combining a lot of it. Brightness, Screen Rotation and Display could've been one line for example.

I get that but they already have a lot of the icons on desktop tthey can modify. They should at least clean up the settings. Like if I go to display in settings, this should also have all the display settings from extras. They are all over the place, it's a mess. Also part of my feedback that won't see the day of light. They need to integrate all the settings in less places. I see a lot of doubles and then clicking on links to get more settings within settings pages. It's not easy for a typical iphone user. Even android is cleaner.

I dont like the change from unique os to a me too Android look alike. I understand they did a lot of it to make it easier for users of other platforms to switch over but they kinda said screw those of us who liked WP 7/8 ui
