I'm interested in trading in my Surface 2 to get the new Surface 3. It says I'll get $150 credit.

But what I'm wondering is if someone was able to combine it with the 10% off education deal. Because the 4GB/128GB model is $540 with the 10% off and then if I had the $150 credit, the machine would be $390 which would be fantastic.

I brought a Surface RT 32GB in the local Microsoft store and got a $100 trade-in (would be $150 for you) and applied the 10% education discount. I wasn't a problem and did help offset the cost a good bit. So, it's definitely works in store.

I did it with my S2 and type cover, then I used my friends student discount. Was kind of nice to get the 128 so cheap.

So I'm guessing everyone is doing this in store? How about through the online trade in? I don't have a store close by.

From what I've seen online and from what I've asked at the store, everything they did at the store applied online as well. In fact, I was more worried that the deal would ONLY work online and not in store. You shouldn't have any issues.
