Anyone else's SP3 having fans get loud over nothing?

I can understand gaming, but my brand spanking new Surface Pro 3 kicks on, while getting loud and hot when doing tasks that aren't anywhere near stressful. Installed two small programs today and it got down to 63% battery life.

I'm mostly worried because I've heard from many reviews that it usually isn't easy to get the fans going.

Well... now that I've gone and made a thread about it, it's almost completely stopped giving me problems. Battery drain has gone normal, and the fans aren't getting ridiculously loud during low-resource tasks :\

...not complaining one bit, now I can confidently sell my Surface Pro 2 and hope it at least helps cover the fact I blew $1300 for the 256GB/8GB config.

I think your concern is valid. I have noticed that the fan revved up when asking it to do slightly more intensive process.

You were likely seeing initial Windows config processes chewing cycles for awhile. Indexing, scanning for updates, building .NET profiles, etc.

Yea, Windows can sometimes do a lot of stuff in the background.
