I agree that would be a nice feature. Just showing some random artists from your library if nothing is playing. Because when i'm actually playing music, my phone is usually in my pocket

But, there is no way to do that right now.

Good call, when not playing it should cycle through the artwork like the pictures tile does. These kind of things should be in an options screen for the live tile.

This. WP7 was annoying because it kept the last artist on there, WP8 is annoying because it shows nothing. I love the idea of having it cycle through artists like the picture tile does.
