App list - letters, but fewer than 41 apps

My understanding is that the app list will only show letters after you've gone over 41 apps.

I deleted a bunch of apps, and I'm now at about 30, but the letters are still there.

I have tried shutting the phone off, but it's still like that when i turn it on.

Is there anything i can do to get back to the simple list?

Once they appear they will never go away only to get rid of the letters is to hard reset your device. Sorry that is how it is.

For interop unlocked phone:

In registry..

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Start
DWORD: GroupingThreshold

Change it to something larger. Mine was somehow set to 0 or 1 (can't remember which offhand). Turned it up to 45 (0x0000002D), did a soft reset/power cycle, and all was well.
