App Loading Screens

Recently I've gotten frustrated with two things. The first being there are apps that don't run under lock screen that are slow to resume. If you had Twitter open when the phone locked and you want to quickly go into another app you'll see "Resuming...". If you hit Home at this point and go into another app the Twitter app will actually launch.

The second issue is I've noticed almost every nonbuiltin application has a load screen at the beginning. You'll see the load screen for 3 seconds, a blank page and after another 5 seconds data will be downloaded. One thing I like about iOS is the application starts right away and displays stale data. I wish WP7 could do this.

Hopefully both these issues become a nonissie with Mango, but rig

Ack at BoardExpress cutting off the textbox for long posts. As I was saying I hope this isn't a problem anymore when we see Mango multitasking and speed improvements.

WP7 can do this. That is what I do in many of my apps. Loads up quickly and default data and then loads real data into it.

Check out my free app QuickContactInfo and give a look.

Now, my apps are really simple so its 100X easier to do then in say the twitter app.

I know some apps don't have loading screens, but the majority do. I think being on 3G can make things seem slower too.
