The case against Windows Phone

I like WP, but things like this bring my enthusiasm down. What does the future hold?

I should probably replace my WP7.8 device with WP8 for the simple fact that I can manage the latter from my Windows 8.1 laptop but I can't manage the former. And the WP8.1 update promises to include File Manager to make this feature even better.
