AT&T 14 Day Return for the 32GB 1520

I got my Lumia 1520 on the 4th of January...and was wondering if I can return/exchange it for the 32GB model when it comes in on the 10th? If it costs more, I'll pay it gladly. I was just forced to buy the 16GB version, cause there was no alternative. On the 10th, I'll be way under my 14 days...so I was wondering if anyone has had this issue, or know if I can or can't.

Just remember that you won't be able to buy the 32GB model in-store. You can only order it online and that means that you can't know precisely when the replacement phone would arrive. There's a chance that you wouldn't get it until after your 14-day return/exchange period has ended.

I'm assuming that when I call to exchange the 16GB for 32GB, they'll do the exchange "computer-wise" then and there on the phone, to lock me into being "before" the 14 days. I'm also sure they'll want the 16GB back before they send out the 32GB...so I'll overnight it back to them if necessary, lol. Not sure how this will work, just wondering if anyone out there has had experience with this before.

Check with your local store they might do an exchange and let you keep the one you have till the other one arrives but your replacement would be sent to the store I think.

You will have to pay a $35.00 restocking fee,,, you are just better keeping the phone and using the $35 to buy an SD Card, It will accomplish the same.

I think I'm inclined to agree. I will keep my 16GB Lumia 1520, and put the $35 (restocking fee) and $100 (32GB Lumia 1520 difference) towards a 64GB Extreme Plus MicroSD.

I'd say that choice should be dependent on your app use. Remember you can't install apps on your memory card. Even with a 64gb memory card for pictures and music, I started running out of room quickly on my 16gb version. I do have many games installed however. I'm much happier with my 32gb model. Just food for thought.

I agree with the app bit. I don't have a lot of games but I do have quite a bit of map data as I travel. I got an error telling me that I didn't have enough storage to install something new and so had to uninstall a game to make room.

Didn't Daniel kind of hint in an article that MS was working on installing apps to the SD card for the next update? If so, it's kind of a moot point. Having said that, if you can return it and get the 32GB one, you might as well. I would if I was still in the return window.

That can be installed to the SD card just fine. That's how I have it set up on my 1520.

You're correct. The timeframe for that feature's release wasn't clear, but it's been reported as being in development for a while now.

You didn't say if you paid full price or used an upgrade to purchase your phone. If you used an upgrade you will half to return the phone prior to using the same upgrade to purchase the new one. I hope that makes since. It happened to me a couple of years ago, did not like my new phone and wanted to switch it out with a different phone. I had ordered my first one through Amazon and couldn't use my upgrade until the phone was returned and my account showed I was upgrade eligible again.

I don't have but one game on my phone, not really a game person...albeit, I'll download and play one from time to time. I just put music and photos on my phone, and that can all be loaded to the cloud or to my 64GB Extreme Plus MicroSD card. I believe that you can also set it up so that maps downloads to your SD card as well

You should be able to move your map data to the SD card using the Lumia Storage Check app. That should free up more space on your phone.
