Just read an article on CNET stating that new AT&T customers, as well as existing customers whose contract ends in March 2014 or later will now have to wait a full 24 months to be eligible for a subsidized upgrade. The article says they are following in Verizon's footsteps.I receive a corporate discount, so I checked my upgrade eligibility date online. Sure enough, my upgrade eligibility date went from November 2013 to March 2014. Just thought I would share the information if anyone is interested.

Just because something is on paper doesn't mean it will be followed. If they want to move the newest model phones you'll still get your 18 month upgrade.

I hope you're right. The last time I checked my eligibility date, it was 11/2013, today, it's 3/2014. Maybe they'll change their mind.

Another way AFee&Fee screws their customers, but then again it's the carrier most beloved here...

I remember back in the day here before Cingular when they were SW Bell Wireless, we could upgrade every year. <sigh>

I've got a 4 line family plan with AT&T. When I tried to add a 5th member, the price was outrageous. So I did some research and found a great deal with Virgin Mobile. I'm seriously considering switching the rest of my family to Virgin over time.

Just noticed this on mine too. I was looking forward to getting the new EOS Lumia in November. I feel like this is a breach of contract on ATT's part. They changed it to 24 months after it was established at 18!

I know what you mean. I missed the cutoff by one month. My contract is up in April. I guess we will all have to hope our phones hold up for 2 years. That late in the game, if something should happen, it doesn't seem like filing an insurance claim and ponying up $125. would be worth it when you're so close to your upgrade date.
