Ativ s firmware #

I have a unlocked Telus set the ocs set to BMC. My firmware # is 2212.13.6.1
I seen somewhere someone posted a firmware # 2424 something. Just curious if anyone has a firmware higher than mine and if so what # and how'd you get it?

You have the Canadian version ativ s t898. The European ativ s (i8370 I think) shows the "2424" #s. Your phone is showing you are running gdr2. Just 2 different versions if the same phone. Yours is LTE capable

Just thought I would correct you, the Canadian version is the t899. I guess that was a typo on your part though. The EU version is the i8750 and the firmware for the EU version is 2424.13.5.1

Hello everyone. I have an ATIV S, originally from Bell Canada but unlocked and working under another carrier (Rogers) that sells Windows Phone but not the ATIV S.

Will I get GDR3/Update 3 or I should change my sim and connect it to Bell Network ?
Will 2212.13.6.1 be updated with GDR3 ?

Hi. When Bell pushes out the update for that particular phone, you will receive it despite what carriers Sim you are using. I also have an unlocked Bell Ativ S, that I am using on the Rogers network.

The firmware version makes no difference unless you're having issues, the t899 version has an LTE chipset so it has different firmware to the i8750 version that I have.

The firmware may be updated when GDR3 is rolled out to your phones but generally OS and firmware updates are separate

I didn't care about my firmware version until "4Blend HDR" told me I had an old firmware and needed to update. Guess the the app is mistaken.

I wouldn't worry too much, 4blend crashed constantly for me. It wouldn't even get past the splash screen before dumping me back to the start screen and that's on an i8750.

Hello. I have a T899M model from Bell, but im in Romania now, and I received the GDR3 update a few days ago( http://forums.windowscentral.com/samsung-ativ-s/263652-new-samsung-update.html). I find it curious that you didnt. Try changing the csc to BMC, and see if that works.

Thanks for sharing this detail. I also got the OTA update today and I was previously on Dev Preview of GDR3 and I was wondering whether the update changed anything in the firmware.
Based on your output, it seems like it has also updated those too.

I'm hoping the bluetooth issues are resolved as it is very frustrating - I can never get a reliable connection to my car audio for HFP and A2DP - it is totally unpredictable as to when it will work and often times requires a full reboot for things to function properly for a bit until the next pairing ...

That's what I was thinking, if I remember correctly there were issues with the 2424.13.10.1 firmware in some regions so they released new firmware for those regions only.
