ATT 950 dropping data connection

I have ATT 950 as well and have been randomly having the same issue since I got the phone. Strange thing is I had this happen once on my stock 920, but it was about a month before I got my 950 so I just ignored it as a one off issue. Now that I have the 950 it happens randomly every month. Like everyone else, I can't nail down what triggers it. It happened just last night, was showing LTE bars like nothing was wrong but nobody could call or text me. Had to reboot the phone. New phone, new SIM, have done the last 3 TH updates and the problem still happens.
It might sound strange but it seems to happen most frequently on Tuesdays. I cant figure it out.

Now as you said that I remember I had this problem too on my L925. Maybe this is a W10M issue and not a L950.

My issue is it doesn't say LTE or 4G, it just has the bars to the left. Mine is definitely related to using my phone as a hotspot, as when I don't, I don't experience any issues.

So this happened again tonight but I was able to get a rough time of when it happened. I sent out a text message around 5pm and never got a reply. I remembered that around that same time, I tried using Cortana to set an alarm for the next morning. But Cortana got hung up in the voice command process, and I just hit the Start button and went back to the home screen and said i'll deal with it later. After that time roughly, I never was receiving text messages. Didn't realize it till I got an email around 9pm from my friend asking if my phone was screwed up again.
So, I'm wondering and it might be a long shot, if Cortana is somehow getting stuck and causing this. I also noticed that my battery had drained down to about 25% which is unusually low considering it was basically sitting with little to no use today. Anyways, I am going to test by leaving Cortana turned off for the indefinite future and see how it goes. Don't know if anybody else has maybe noticed this or wants to try as well.

Any update from somebody who has the new firmware? I've been experiencing data drop-outs like maevinj--unconfirmed whether it affects calls and texts in my case but am doing a lot of mobile hotspot.

I got my L950 a week ago and am considering taking it back to the store for a new unit...

I went on the RS1 update on the slow ring, and my issues with dropping connection after hotspotting have gone away.
I still don't have the new firmware yet from AT&T.
