Audio playing after bluetooth disconnects

I have a HTC Titan running Windows Phone 7.5.

Whenever I run Zune or Slacker radio with bluetooth in the car it runs great. When I exit the car and the bluetooth disconnects the audio turns back on.

This is really annoying when you pause the radio before exiting and then you have DJ Icey blasting from your hip while walking into work.

Does anyone else have this issue and is there any solution?

I see that as a feature of Zune the music keeps going to me its a good thing. If you don't want the music to keep playing just pause it.

Audio issue

Thank you for your reply.

I don't see how it is a feature. Who would want their phone to start playing AFTER the bluetooth connection stopped?

Well either way is there a way to disable that feature?

I appreciate your input.

When listening to music on my Omnia 7 via BT headphones, when I turn off BT on my phone it doesn't carry on playing, the music pauses until i press play again.

Perhaps it's different per brand of handset. :)

Interesting. I am using the Belkin Aircast in my car for bluetooth connectivity. Perhaps you are right. I may have to chase down that angle on a solution.

Thanks. :)

I've noticed a combination of the two with my Bluetooth fm transmitter on my Surround. When I turn off my car and the Bluetooth disconnects it always pauses the music playing. But then, about 1/6 of the time after I've been disconnected for about 30 seconds it'll start playing again.

Same thing happens to me. I have a Volkswagen, maybe its car specific ?

Sent from my SGH-i937 using Board Express

Any solutions???

Good morning all!

So far I have tested the phone with another in-car bluetooth device and I am getting the same result: music playing ~10 secs AFTER bluetooth disconnects.

I hope there is an update to correct this because I don't think there are too many people that are so musically starved that they need the phone to start playing soon after exiting the car. I hate to say it but this is the only thing my iPhone has over my Titan is that when the music is off, its off.

Same thing happens to me. I have a Titan and when I use BT the phone will start to play audio after I hang up the call even though it was not playing before the call. It only happens with TuneIn Radio not Zune. I am thinking it is an issue with TuneIn.

for the past couple of days I have been using BT streaming in my car exclusively. I have NOT had it continue playing when exiting the car. I have been playing music that is stored locally on the phone. Ill see if streaming last.fm makes a difference. (btw...its a 2010 mustang with MS SYNC)

i think i have it figured out. If i stream music via last.fm ... as soon as i turn off the car the music stops, then it switches to the next song and starts playing from the phone. It seems to do this EVERYTIME. If play the music stored locally, it doesnt continue playing.

In my situation it is Slacker + Aircast bluetooth in the AUX port of the car stereo. It seems a very poor design to have any music playing after the bluetooth connection drops. Any MS viewers here have any ideas?

Update: Design flaw

I was reading this post here and it seems that it may be a design flaw in how WP7/Zune/Music players act with bluetooth (IMO).

Zune only uses play/pause. For some reason M$ thought it would be useful if you had a player that you couldn't exit out of so the Zune player stays resident. When the bluetooth device disconnects Zune thinks this is a signal to play.

If M$ is reading: PLEASE FIX THIS!!! No one has goldfish memory to the point that they actually forgot that they wanted the music to stop after they were done listening to it.

I like WP7 and it is starting to overtake my Iphone 4's usefulness but this annoying "feature" is one that we can do without. Let the user end the music and if PAUSE (STOP) is pressed then let it stay that way until the user selects PLAY. How useful would Media Player in Windows (XP/7/8) be if everytime you pause the music / video it started playing when you minimized the player window?

Any other ideas? Thanks for your input.

Same issue with HTC Trophy and Plantronics Voyager

This is driving me nuts. HTC Trophy (verizon) and Plantrnics Voyager Pro BT headset. Any change in connection, call ends, video or audio stoppage and the music player automatically starts playing. Can't figure out how to change, disable or alter behavior! Someone help please. Music stored locally.

This is not a "feature." It's a bug.

It happens to me too if I'm listening to streaming music. I hit pause, close the app, turn off my bluetooth device, walk away from my car, and then 10 seconds later my phone starts to blast the last song I was listening to from my pocket. It happens pretty much every time.

This might be considered a feature if I didn't pause the music and close the app. I have no problem with the phone assuming I want to continue listening to the music, switching from Bluetooth to speaker, if I never paused it. But I actually paused it and closed the app. That's a bug.

i just recently started having this problem but i play music from zune, also i am using the belkin adapter. and recently when playing music, and i get a phone call it automatically answers for some reason.

sooooooooooo bump
