Automatic mail read receipt

Hello,

I have Echange account set up on my phone (Samsung Ativ S, WP8, developer preview to 8.1). Each e-mail I read, an automatic read receipt is sent to sender ?!?

Any option to change/stop this?

If you have access then go to the Exchange System Manager > Global Settings > Internet Message Formats.

Right click Default > Properties > Advanced tab

Clear the checkbox "Allow delivery reports."

We have 20+ users on Exchange. All want to have control over delivery reports (e.g. turning them ON or OFF in Outlook). So a global OFF is not an option.

I just want to turn this of for my user on my WP8 phone.. Is it possible?

Just upgraded from the Nokia Lumia 710 to the Lumia 625 and discovered this issue.

With the 710 it was an option, same as in Outlook on your PC. With the 625 there isn't an option to not send the read receipt. I only found out when I read an email from someone that always adds read receipts & wasn't informed that one had been requested or sent.

Allowing the end user to be in control of sending read receipts should be a basic function of the phone and not reliant on IT disabling it for everyone on the exchange server.
