Battery life after 8.1?

My 520 keeps getting warm and battery is suffering :/ I think I need to get the cyan firmware

I searched for battery life because i wanted to see if anyone else noticed how much better it is now that 8.1 has come out. I used to be able to use my phone like for like 2 hrs (not including music listening) during the day and by the time i got home from school (7 hours) it would be almost drained. Now i have been using it straight for like 3 hrs and it's still at 74%! I haven't had a problem since! Holy **** Microsoft IDK wtf you did but thank the heavens on high!

A tip to charge your phone much faster is not to use the official charger it comes with. I use the charger from my Dell tablet and it charges my Samsung Ativ S almost twice as fast. When comparing the two adapters, I noticed the tablet power adapter had higher amps.

Usually I do a phone reset after I install an update. This time around I waited a bit to see if I could pick up any differences.

Before resetting the phone:
On full charge battery would say 1 day 3hrs remaining
Basemark scores were the same as before

After phone reset
Full charge gives me 1day 15hr (what it used to show on GDR3)
Basemark scores previous high was 499 now its 521
Significant increase in Memory, Graphics and Web scores

I think the battery life on my 822 is slightly (detectable but not a huge difference) worse now. But it got a bit worse after GDR3 then went back to normal. I'm waiting to see if that's the case this time.

Ok Ive worked out that WeChat on WP8.1 is absolutely sucking the life out of the battery, from 50%~ to 15% in just 20 mins~, and most of that was with the screen off, just running behind lock

I use WeChat and it's not killing my battery like that

Mine is 620 and after 8.1 update the battery life has improved slightly
