wp_ss_20140430_0002.pngwp_ss_20140506_0002.pngAll i noticed with my "Lumia 625" is bit confusing with Battery back up..In my case
-->when i playing Games (Most active) the remaining time shows 18Hrs,
-->in case Phone(Texting+call+whats app) is Most active then it shows 23Hrs.,
-->& if Music is most active then it shows 1Day3Hrs...
I think MS try to inform users about the Battery consumption by individual Applications so, try to notice which app eats up your battery & limit its use....If problem persists then "Rest device"....

Why is it that for my android s1 it when my battery hits 1% it stays there for ages, while for my 925 it drops like a rock in 10% and shuts down at like 3%

Battery saver was one of the worst offenders for me. I had to completely disable it.

If you run with Battery Saver ON (at least from my experience on a Lumia Icon) you will have major battery issues.

tried it with it on and without it on and battery was still really bad compared to 8.0 ........ I think we will all notice differences in good battery and bad battery depending on apps installed and how much we use certain apps etc , we must remember that this is a big update and still a preview for devolopers to get their apps ready for 8.1 as it is many apps still aren't updated for 8.1 and I am sure there will be some conflicts between apps running on 8.1 and on 8.0 ie some apps might not close as they should or might use things like location more often then they should etc

I am not knocking 8.1 it was great to be able to try it and I look forwards to the real deal with the cyan overlay and I am sure battery will be much better in the final version ;-)

Sorry for my bad English.

Maybe your battery is not full charged.

first, i charged my Lumia 720 with charge adapter and battery indicator says that my battery is 100%.

after that i try charge my Lumia with Portable Charger -and for your information portable charger will stop charging automatically while your battery is full- and the fact is the portable charger don't stop charge it mean that my battery is not fully charged.
the portable charger was charging my phone for one hour and then stopped.

and now my battery indicator still tells me my battery is 100% after 4 hours of using.

sorry for my bad english :)

Just a few everyday findings on my n920 recently upgraded to 8.1 on 8 I would go for a run for 1 hour using music, endomondo and cadence apps started on 100% ended on 85%. With 8.1 it ended on 95%, I'm finding the battery life poetry much the same for most things and alot better for others, like gps seems to be more optimised

i have also faced similar situation. after using for 2-3 hours this morning, my phone was still @ 100% (@11:30 a.m. IST). and then later also, it never went down drastically. it was normal and currently at 92% (4:30 pm IST).

I think the battery indicator in this build can be a little inaccurate at times (after changing the region to get Cortana, when my 1020 rebooted it went from 100% to 20% but stayed at 20% all day) but personally I haven't noticed any substantial differences in battery life - obviously it's gotten slightly worse cause I use my phone more now with all the new features. Just make sure that only apps your want running in the background are enabled, as I found that some had turned themselves back on after the update

I did a hard reset just over a week ago and didn't restore from backup and I've noticed an improvement in my battery life. The first day or two was iffy, but as it settled down after getting apps reinstalled and tweaking my background tasks it seems to be doing pretty good.

Ok, in my experience with WP 8.1 battery consumption has improved, not a lot, but still is an improvement.

On normal usage, battery is draining around 7%/hour, when I'm playing games or using Internet Explorer it goes up to something like 20-25%.
I always try to let the battery charge up to 100% and it last for like 15 hours, also Battery Saver is just amazing: I can travel from my college to my home listening music (1 hour or so), with less than 20% of the battery remaining when it is on.

Sorry about my english btw :sweaty:

Lumia Icon...........So, all of a sudden, my batter life has gotten insanely good - before 8.1 it was decent at best - would go home from work at 6pm with about 25% left, and by bedtime it was around 10%. After installing 8.1, I thought it was about the same, but now, the past few days, I am going home from work with over 50% remaining. Not to mention that the overnight battery drain tests ive done, pre-8.1 were usually around 8-12% overnight, and now, last night I only lost 2%. Did MS do anything? I didn't really change anything, so im not sure what happened, but, regardless, im loving it. 2 days is finally in reach.

I've been having no problems for several days now until I tweaked a not-obvious setting this morning and my phone went into battery sucking fireball mode.

I simply changed the screen brightness (Lumia Icon) from "Low" to "Automatically Adjust". Then went into my daily scrum meeting and my phone was functioning as a leg warmer. I turned the setting back to "Medium" and it's been fine since. I also verified that there were no pending app updates or other activity that would be causing a problem.

This might be one of the settings that is causing a problem and not obvious.

I've been really happy with the update, but I can see how non-die hard users would find this frustrating. Hopefully the official release and accompanying firmware updates will knock out the major issues.

I really feel like the 8.1 version of the OS is a true competitor with iOS and Android.

Opposite for me. One day I changed my brightness from "Automatic" to "Low," and boy... Did that buggar drain!!!

With the exception of a few days the past two weeks, where I had the sudden drain, my battery life on my Icon has gotten better and better. Today has been one of my best days, as can be seen by the pics below. The two big drops today were both times when games were being played on the phone (about 30 minutes total) plus some browsing. Even had a call earlier this morning which barely caused a blip in the battery. If MS can find the source of these sudden battery drains and kill them permanently, then battery life will likely be outstanding for most Windows Phones using 8.1. I have Cortana, location, bluetooth, and WiFi on constantly for most of the day.

I think battery life has gone worse with 8.1 but just a little bit. I enabled Cortana for a while but still, my phone's lasting for a day, although before it usually ends up with 50-60% battery life at the end of the day.

I found some weird problem in the peoples hub pics from Facebook are not showing

Sent from my yellow Lumia 1020 using Tapatalk

I am also facing this problem and didn't find any solution....

Update: Found a solution for fb pictures in people hub.. Go to officalfb application > settings > connect with phone.. Then toggle the switch to connect and then disconnect and then again connect and now sync it after that all contacts which are linked with fb accounts shows their fb pics.... 😊

People hub pics synced with Microsoft contacts account also not working and getting blank pics on tile, i think it is due to extras+info update which has changed few things.

I don't see any very drastic changes to battery life with my 1320 running WP8.1 DP. But I noticed it drains much faster when Wi-Fi is turned on. I'll let the OS and battery settle for a few days before concluding anything. I'm also watching for background tasks.
